SAN FRANCISCO: 6
It was the Harbaugh Bowl on Thanksgiving night in Baltimore and the Ravens defense showed that it is still a force to be recon with. It was a battle by two defensive teams, each wanting the win for their side of the family.
The Baltimore Ravens were coming off a win over the Cincinnati Bengals and looked to keep their slight hold on the top of the AFC North. They again used a more balanced approach to attack a 49ers defense that has been solid throughout the season. The Baltimore defense compiled a franchise tying 9 sacks, led by Terrell Suggs who had 3. Lardarius Webb had the games lone interception in the end zone, saving the ravens from an Alex Smith strike.
The San Francisco 49ers drew the short end of the straw, traveling 3,000 miles on a short week to visit Baltimore. The defense played well, holding Flacco to 161 passing yards and the ground attack to 92 yards total. They still leave with their record of not giving up a rushing touchdown yet this season. It was their offensive line that was dominated, Alex Smith got sacked almost once on every drive. The 49ers will still clinch their sub-par division with not problems.
