Maryland doesn't play again until next week but is should be a good game. Even though Maryland is undefeated they still can't rank. These are only AP rankings. There is also USA Today rankings that Maryland also isn't on. I usually look at the AP rankings, it's a matter of preference. Neither media outlet is more credible than the other when ranking college football teams. That task is handled by a computer on week 8. This is called the BCS standings where they use a computer to determine who goes to the BCS Championship and other various bowl games. What I typed above is the stupidest, most illogical method to determine who should play in the championship game. It should be determined by wins and losses. Could you imagine NFL using the method to determine who goes to the Super Bowl every year? No, because that's stupid.
But I'm not naive enough to believe that they just can't figure out a more logical way of determining the BCS Championship. There's a reason they don't change it. Too many corporations have their hands in bowl games. It seems like there is a bowl game for every company. You got the Chick-fil-a bowl, Capital One Bowl, AutoZone Liberty Bowl. etc. Click here to see the entire list.
